Solana is a blockchain that enables decentralized applications that are user-friendly and scalable.

Solana claims to be the fastest-growing ecosystem of its kind with already over 400 projects with transactions of less than one cent for both developers and users.

This open-source blockchain focuses on speed and real scalability to keep fees and functions available to a much larger marketplace at any time.

Solana’s currency (SOL) has a market cap of 66 billion making it the 5th largest blockchain currency available today.

Solana uses what they call “proof of state” and new “proof of history” technologies.

Co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko in a whitepaper in November 2017 described the Proof of History (PoH) concept and it is this innovation by the Former Qualcomm (QCOM) developer that is responsible for the fast, scalable transactional functionality.

U.S. News recently called Solana a “top 2021 performer” and also point out the project is a newcomer to the scene and considered high risk.
